Program documentary video

Winner of a Silver Award at the 2018 Australian Video Producer Awards in the documentary category.

The challenge was to communicate the athletes' personal journeys and felt experiences during Netball Australia's inaugural Indigenous High Performance Camp. The brief was to immerse ourselves in the three-day camp hosted by the Australian Institute of Sport, capture key moments on video and craft a documentary. We focused on conveying the program context and purposes, developmental impacts for athletes and the value for the Australian netball community.

Filming was conducted in a sensitive manner with the athletes’ wellbeing front of mind. The evolving program schedule required a flexible and agile filming approach respondent to honouring and recording moments of spontaneity.

Acknowledgement of Country video

Created for the 2017 Constellation Cup netball tournament, this video was played for audiences in stadiums across Australia before each match. Uniting footage from the Indigenous High Performance Camp and supplied video from the Australian Diamonds Camp, we crafted this aspirational montage to connect athletes in different stages of their high performance pathways. Australian Diamond legend Marcia Ella-Duncan OAM and Australian Diamond Head Coach Lisa Alexander contributed their voices to the piece.

Directed, filmed and edited by Glenn Dixon.
Voiceover recordings by Bayden Findlay.
