New Zealand: A gift of time and space / by Glenn Dixon

Each evening during my exploration of New Zealands' South Island, I recorded single word descriptions of significant things I noticed during my two week exploration. Considering experiences, moments and feelings as gifts is an interesting paradigm shift. It is my hope that practising this exercise will help me engage more deeply with the present.

In my notebook, the page to the left of the spread was titled: Gifts received, the right titled: Gifts given. I reserved space in the middle for the overlap: the gifts given and received in mutual reciprocity.

It was interesting to note that I left the country with far more gifts than I gave. Below is a keyword representation of my journey with the opacity of each keyword reflecting how many times that word was recorded.
