Working with Glenn Dixon Visuals was a dream process! We’re so happy with the end results!

—Nikki Blanch, Founder of Meals With Impact

Glenn and his team’s videos took our product from an MVP to a digital product on the world stage. The videos not only helped us reach new audiences, but improve the design and positioning of our product more widely.

—Agi Luczak, Director of ByMany

GDV’s screen stories and photographs communicate with clarity, empathy and emotion. They helped MACA successfully advocate for the rights of children with disabilities and medical conditions to safe and accessible transport. Their team are experienced and responsive collaborators whose careful planning, clear vision and knack for storytelling ensures excellent results!

—Emma Clarkson, Founder and Director of MACA ltd

GDV expanded my concepts with ease and attention to detail and was able to guide me in putting together the right story I was trying to produce. I’ll definitely work with GDV again on future projects.

Jessica Gallagher, Summer & Winter Paralympic Medallist

The whole process, from concept through to delivery was seamless. We can’t recommend GDV highly enough if you’re after film services to capture your story!

Process and Services

We adapt our three-stage production process to fit your unique project for a smoother experience.

  • In ‘pre-pro’ we discover and define the project scope – it’s collaborative, pragmatic and creative.

We examine production elements in fine detail and create planning documents before we roll the first frame. Time invested in pre-production is the foundation for a smoother production experience.

    ‘Pre-pro’ can include:

    —Communications strategy.

    —Concept and narrative development.

    —Budgeting.

    —Planning documentation.

    —Research and talent pre-interviews.

    —Safety assessments.

    —Coordination and logistics.

For compliance—we have public liability and professional indemnity insurances, plus Working With Children Checks issued in Victoria. And, we’re on the Buying for Victoria Tenders Portal for easy procurement.

  • The content acquisition phase for recording the audio visual assets. Our scalable productions can include crew, talent and gear in a studio or more likely, Glenn Dixon in a far flung location with a camera and sturdy tripod.

We favour a small footprint approach with minimal disruption.

    Production can include:

    —On-set directing, producing and interviewing.

    —Single and multi-camera image capture.

    —Sound recording.

    —Lighting.

    —Location styling.

    —Make up and wardrobe.

    —Still photography.

We supply industry standard gear which exceeds the requirements for many productions. Specialist and extra equipment can be supplied from our rental house partners.

  • ‘Post’ is dedicated to combining the audio visual assets and presenting them as finished works.

At key moments, we invite our project partners into the edit and review stage to help guide the creative direction. A private and secure online platform provides reviewers with a streamlined feedback and revision experience.

When the finished works are ready for delivery, the needs of our audiences determine the accessibility and mastering requirements for publication.

    ‘Post’ can include:

    —Vision and sound editing.

—Motion graphic design with brand asset integration.

    —Illustration and animation.

    —Music composition and licensing.

    —Voice over recording.

    —Colour correction and grading.

    —Subtitle, caption and transcript creation.

    —Review and feedback.

    —Deliverable mastering.

    —Data management, transfer and archiving.

 FAQs

  • Mostly short-form, between 30 seconds and 5 minutes, in a variety of formats for the web. Ranging from documentaries and promotional content to educational videos. We don’t do live events or weddings (unless they’re key to a story and only if they’re fully catered).

  • There’s an old saying that corporate video typically costs $1000 per minute. But we don’t find that useful at all.

Production costs vary considerably based on the complexity and resources needed to fulfil a brief. In our experience, $5k-$10k is a rough starting point to produce some great content and we scale up from there. We’re transparent with our rates and build our productions to fit your budget.

  • Usually a few weeks from concept development through to final delivery.

  • We are a nimble, small-footprint operation. We like it this way because we work flexibly and scale our services to suit a project. We have a core team of three, lead by multidisciplinary image maker Glenn Dixon and expand as the need arises. We include directors, producers, cinematographers, gaffers, make-up artists, set designers, actors, musicians, sound engineers, illustrators, writers, voice over and accessibility specialists as part of our extended network.

We prioritise quality over speed. We prefer to invest our time and creative expertise in fewer projects so that our partners get better outcomes. If you need next day delivery or the cheapest rate in town — we’re not the best fit for you.

  • We’d love for you to be as involved in the process as you can. While we feel quite comfortable completing projects for partners who prefer a hands-off approach, we do lean on our partners for their industry knowledge and ideas.

  • Mission control for us is our studio in Brunswick East. It’s a collaborative space for planning and post-production however it’s not ideal for shooting. We always find a location or studio space to complement a project.

  • We’ve invested more than we care to admit and built up quite a collection. From lights and lenses, to drones and gimbals. Everything we own is available for your shoot and included in our fixed daily rate – so there’s no extra charge when we pull a different lens from the bag. Anything we don’t own we can hire in from our rental partners at market rate.
